oh, yes I also faced this problem elsewere. You see in Japanese the small ‘tsu’ known as the ‘chisai tsu’ is special because when used before a letter it makes the letter (the one after the chisai tsu) longer so that’s why its jyaku’tt’o. Most tutorials and japanese courses teach pupils that the previous letter gets to be longer, I don’t know why that is, but ya.
