There are another way to make a request, but ~てください one of the very basic one. Another very simple word you can use is おねがいします (onegaishimasu). It’s very simple, the formula is object + おねがいします.
Example:
みず: waterおねがいします
Mizu onegaishimasu
Please give me water / Water please / I want water please
その飲みもの : drinkおねがいします
Sono nomimono onegaishimasu
Please give me that drink / I want that drink
