Additional Notes

Japanese tends to drop pronouns. If you use (I) word to much, it looks as if you’re too self-centered. While using (you) too much will look as if you’re accusing someone of something.

You might be surprised, but anata isn’t used as much as English version of you. When you need to address other people, the most recommended way is to say their name/occupation + san. It’s hard to go wrong with this!

Rather than “Yamada-San, is this your car?”, the next sentence is perfectly fine and even preffered in Japanese “Yamada-San, is this yamada – san’s car?

Happy learning! 。゚✶ฺ.ヽ(*´∀`*)ノ.✶゚ฺ。
